Mikayla Millard
Mikayla Millard is a documentary photographer based out of Poughkeepsie, New York. Her work centers around topics of introspection, family, and her faith. Being an artist has allowed her to use her work to help her through difficult times in her life, as well as make connections within herself and with others. Mikayla received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography from SUNY New Paltz in May 2022.
Symone Knox
Symone Knox (b. 1998 — Kingston, NY) lives and works in the Hudson Valley Region of New York as a conceptual artist & documentary photographer. Working primarily with themes related to Blackness, Symone’s work is deeply connected to her understanding of history & her identity as a Black woman and a photographer. Often utilizing book formats as a tool for visual storytelling, Symone’s work also centers narratives surrounding memory, loss, family, and trauma.
Her work has been exhibited both in the United States and abroad, including the Wilgus Gallery in Baltimore, MD, Smack Mellon in Brooklyn, NY, and The Center for Photographers of Color in Fayetteville, AR.
Symone graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2021, where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography.
